Historical Information: Tennessee Grand Lodge
The Grand Lodge of Tennessee Knights of Pythias was instituted on April 2, 1872 at Myrtle Lodge #3 in Nashville, TN. The first Grand Chancellor was Calvin McCorkle, member of Holston Lodge #1 in Knoxville.
There were 6 Subordinate Lodges with 502 members in the state when the Grand Lodge was instituted. By 1902 membership in Tennessee grew to 9,595.
The first KP Lodge in Tennessee was Holston Lodge #1 instituted July 26, 1871 in Knoxville.
